Ralph is an award-winning garden designer, plantsman and artist whose path to the garden was anything but conventional. Beginning with a PhD in neuroscience and mathematics, it was through the study of natural forms that a deeper calling revealed itself; one arising from the meeting point of science, art and the living world.

His approach to design is as much artistic as horticultural. Each project begins with a close reading of its surroundings: the architecture, the light, the conditions, and develops into something shaped by concept, form and a genuine reverence for plants. The result is spaces that feel both deeply composed and alive.

Ralph graduated with Distinction from the London College of Garden Design and has since realised projects internationally, including:

  • A garden for a mansion near Paris

  • A garden in Coconut Grove, Miami

  • A garden in Chiswick, London

  • A large garden on Lake Geneva, near Chicago
